The city shimmered below them, but all Aarvika could focus on was the man standing behind her—the heat of his touch, the way his voice sent shivers down her spine.
The cool breeze tousled Aarvika’s hair as she leaned against Jayson, feeling his warmth enveloping her.
A sigh escaping her lips as she took in the view. Jayson stood close behind her, his hand brushing against her arm, sending shivers down her spine.
“This city never sleeps,” Jayson murmured, his voice husky. “Just like my thoughts right now.”
Aarvika smirked, tilting her head slightly. “Oh? And what exactly is keeping Mr. Soni awake?”
He slid a hand around her waist, pulling her flush against him. “You look incredible in the city lights,” he murmured. “And your scent? It’s driving me insane.”
Heat rising in her cheeks “Jayson…”
Turning her around to face him, Jayson locked eyes with her, a fiery passion burning between them. He leans in, his breath warm against her ear. A soft kiss lands on her forehead, sending a jolt of electricity through her. Without hesitation, he captured her lips in a deep and fervent kiss, it was intense—deep, consuming, filled with something raw and unspoken.
Aarvika melted into his touch, her body betraying her. But then—reality struck like a lightning bolt. Her heart pounded, not just from desire but from fear. This was dangerous. Wrong.
“We can’t,” she whispered, shaking her head. “It’s not right.”
His jaw clenched. Frustration burned in his eyes, laced with something deeper. “Don’t say that. Not now.”
His hand found her cheek, his thumb grazing her skin in a touch that made her want to melt all over again. “Remember our first kiss? The spark, the fire? This feels exactly like that.”
Aarvika’s body betrayed her, responding to his touch, his words. Their breaths mingled, their lips just inches apart, until she finally summoned the strength to push him away—just slightly.
“We have to stop,” she whispered, though even she didn’t sound convinced.
Taking a moment to catch her breath in the cool night air, Aarvika looked up at Jayson with a mix of emotions swirling in her eyes. Jayson releases her slowly, his breath ragged. Their eyes meet, a thousand unspoken emotions swirling within them.
In that moment of silent understanding and unspoken desires, Jayson took a step closer to her. In a deep voice “Okay. But this isn’t over, Sugar!”
“Sugar?” she asked, a playful lilt in her voice.
His eyes holding hers “Seems like a perfect name for you. Sweet on the outside, with a hidden edge that keeps me wanting more.”
Aarvika’s breath hitched. Sugar the nickname was ridiculous, unexpected—and yet, the way he said it sent a delicious thrill down her spine.
